Guess Who Almost Played Batman in 1989?

Well, he's coming out with a new movie very soon, so I guess he's in the news.

And one of the things that we're now learning about Pierce Brosnan is that he almost got a role as a superhero that likely would have changed popular perception about him. I mean, he's known as James Bond, the most famous role that he played - although admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of James Bond movies.

He apparently laughed - literally laughed - at the notion of playing Batman, before outright dismissing it.

But he has come to regret that, because that Batman franchise, starring Michael Keaton, changed popular perceptions of superhero movies.

Now, they are all the rage.

Back then, they were more of a novelty. Now, of course, super hero movies are so common as to seem almost unavoidable in the movie theaters!

How times have changed!

And how might his career, which make no mistake, was very successful, have been different had he taken the role and played Bruce Wayne/Batman?

We'll never know.
