Riviere-du-Loup, Québec

Well, I have been stalling again on these posts for the trip, which now already has been a month to the day as I write this since the day that we arrived back!

Yet, some of the posts are not ready yet! Yes, despite quite a bit of time, I still have not fully downloaded all of the pictures, nor written as much as I wanted to about some of the places and experiences!

That may sound absurd, but there you have it.

Still, I feel obliged, somehow, to go ahead and publish something about the trip, even if this means that it is no longer in chronological order, strictly speaking!

In any case, one of the places that we visited on the trip - one of the last places - was a charming small city with the rather dramatic name of Riviere-du-Loup.

It is roughly a two and a half or so hour drive east of the city of Québec.

We stopped here way back in 1991, the first time that we visited the region. It was a very pleasant little city back then, too, and I have only good memories from it.

So, we wanted to visit it again this time around, quite naturally.

And we did. My son just wanted to get out of the car (of course), because it was a long trip. But the first thing that we saw was a nice little green park, with a beautiful church with very tall, silver spires that are quite typical of Québec.

It was a beautiful day, although a bit on the hot side. So, after spending a bit of time in the shade that the park trees provided, we decided to explore more. We found the main avenue of the small city, and decided to find a place to have a nice cup of coffee. It was a café with an artsy feel to it, and perfect for our purposes of relaxing, unwinding.
