Tony Gonzalez Predicts Perfect Season For Denver Broncos

I am in the process of making my preseason NFL predictions for this upcoming season.

But that said, one man already made a very bold prediction about what will happen this upcoming season, and it's off the charts!

That's right. Former NFL great tight end Tony Gonzalez, who played for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons, made a prediction for this year that almost nobody would ever seriously make during midseason, let alone before the end of the preseason, when such undetermined factors as injuries, focus, luck, and momentum can come into play.

How bold was it?

Well, he predicted that the Denver Broncos would go undefeated through the regular season, like the 2007 New England Patriots. But unlike the 2007 New England Patriots, he predicted that these Broncos would go on to win the Super Bowl.

In essence, he predicted that this year's edition of the Denver Broncos would be the greatest team in NFL history!

Now, that's a bold prediction!

I expect big things from the Broncos, as well. In fact, they are one of my "big three" if you will, to watch this year (the others being the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers).  The Broncos, at least by my estimate, are head and shoulders above every other team in the AFC, and it's hard to see anyone really knocking them off that perch in the American Football Conference this year, provided they stay healthy and play at the level that they are capable of playing (neither of those things are a given).

But predicting a perfect season, a feat that has only been accomplished once in NFL history (and twice in professional American football history, if you include the 1948 Cleveland Browns)?

Now, that's going out on a limb!

Everyone is dismissing Gonzalez's prediction, and that is to be expected. After all, that is a hell of a rare feat, and Tony Gonzalez, who played for a very long time, but only played on one team that ever won a postseason contest, would know that as well as, if not better than, almost anyone else.

So, he would look like a dunce the very first time that the Denver Broncos tasted defeat, whether that would come in Week One, Week Seven, Week Sixteen, or somewhere in the playoffs, particularly the Super Bowl, like it did for those great, but now often dismissed, 2007 New England Patriots.

On the other hand, how much of a genius would Tony Gonzalez look like if the Denver Broncos manage to actually go perfect and win every single game right up through the Super Bowl? It would be off the charts!

And you know what? I hope the Denver Broncos do go undefeated like that, and win this Super Bowl!

Now, that would be a historical accomplishment, one for the ages!
