Ancestry of Modern Europeans More Complicated Than Originally Believed

I thought that this was an interesting article, mixing history with science and anthropology.

Apparently, modern Europeans came from three different groups, not just the two formerly believed to be the case.

Up to this point, it was generally believed that modern Europeans descended from farmers that had migrated up here from the Middle East maybe around 7,500 years ago, and that they had mixed with the local hunter-gatherers that were already living in Europe.

But now, DNA results suggest that there was a third group from northern Eurasia (mostly Russia), and that these people also contributed to the North American gene pool, as well!
