It seems that anytime we have some kind of "can't miss deal" regarding "trade", it winds up being a disastrous piece of legislation that goes against most of our interests.
Such was the case with NAFTA, which both Clinton and Bush I were for.
It has been the case with so-called "Globalization", which essentially is code for corporations being allowed to ship decent paying jobs off to poor, third world countries for much lower, borderline slave wages and working conditions.
And so it is now with the latest legislation, which has the backing of most of the United States government - including the White House.
That would be what is now being called "Fast Track" trading, more formally known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Once again, this is a bill of goods that is being sold to the American people, disguising what it really is: yet another step in making the rich richer and, of course, making the poor poorer. Because what this country needs more of is corporate culture.
