Four Reasons Young Americans Should Burn Their Student Loan Papers

"We’ve got literally tens of millions of families that are struggling with student loan debt. And the United States government — it’s scheduled to make $51 billion in profits this year and $184 billion in profit just on the new loans over the next 10 years. What we want to do is we want to make investments in our kids, not treat them as profit centers. That’s just not right."

~ Elizabeth Warren

There used to be a time when a Bachelor's Degree proving that you have a college education actually meant quite a lot. It secured you with a decent job and standard of living for life. Ironically, despite not being cheap, the costs were generally not out of reach for most Americans.

How times have changed!

Now, not even a Master's Degree assures you of a well-paying job these days, and the costs of a college education are simply astronomical, with many college graduates starting off their lives heavily burdened with crushing debt, and interest rates on those debts that are staggering.

To top it all off, the quality of the education you are paying so much to receive is actually on the decline, it seems. There are more adjunct and student teachers than ever before, and more administrators as well. In other words, the staff at colleges has grown, but not necessarily for the better as far as the students are concerned, since it is the students that are paying for all of this, after all.

Is there a backlash against all of this?

Yes, you better believe it is coming. There is hope on the horizon, although right now, that seems a bit far off yet.

However, take a look at this attached article, which got me on the subject today.
