Both Democrats & Republicans Trust Comedy Central News Than Mainstream Media

It is a sad state of affairs, but it is true. There is such a low opinion of the mainstream media these days (which goes hand in hand, perhaps, with unbelievably low confidence and approval for government), that people actually trust comedians presenting their take on the news more than they believe the mainstream media that allegedly gives us our news.

But that is understandable, right? After all, the days of one individual, such as Walter Cronkite, giving us the news that we can trust are long gone.

Now, we have prominent news figures themselves making news for lying about the news, as is the case with Brian Williams.

Most of the major media outlets are funded by major corporations with a vested interest in trying to control the news that the voting public gets, and therein lies the problem.

It is a clear-cut case of conflict of interest.

But Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert used the momentum of the blatant hypocrisy and dishonesty of the media and government against them, and did so in a highly entertaining manner. They spoke of these things directly, and in this way, they were able to give more accurate and revealing truths about the news today than the mainstream media ever could.

So, no, it is not surprising that so many people trusted these two comedians for their news source, than those mainstream media outlets that are supposed to give us our news.

Again, a sad state of affairs, particularly since Stewart and Colbert are on to new things.

Where will we get our real news from now?

Here is the link to the article that got me onto this topic to begin with:
