Malicorne - Concert exceptionnel aux Francofolies de la Rochelle (2010) & C'est le mai

Yes, it's May again!

One of my favorite times of the year - actually, I really enjoy April and May both, and even March. But May is a particularly nice month weatherwise, perhaps matched only by October in the autumn.

I love May, and am always happy when it comes around.

One song that I have come to associate with this month is from a French folk band, if you will - Malicorne. The lead singer, Gabriel Yacoub, had an impressive solo career for quite some time, although Malicorne seem to be back together again now.

In any case, in honor of the month of May, here are a couple of video clips of the song. The first is from an album, and the second features Malicorne performing C'est le mai during a performance on July 24th in 2012:

Finally, here was a truly exceptional clip of the famous concert when Malicorne first reunited back in 2010. This was converted into a live album, as well as a DVD, but you can view it here:

  1. I share your fondness for May, and of course for Malicorne. That guy Nicolas who joined them on stage was really hamming it up. Anyway hopefully we'll get a chance to see Malicorne ourselves some day.

  2. Malicorne is one of the few musical acts left that I always wanted to see in concert, but have been completely shut out from seeing even a single member of (although we saw Lo Jai, and I think that, at least at one point in time, a former member of Malicorne was a member of Lo Jai. Whether or not he was there on the day that we saw them remains a mystery to me, although I could probably find out. Probably should, too. But yes, hopefully, we can see them someday.
