Pope Francis Condemns Those Who Profit From War

Since I already posted a blog entry about warmongering (the earlier post about Jeb Bush admitting that he would do the Iraq invasion thing all over again, even knowing what we know now about it), it seemed fitting to post this blog entry about war and war profiteers, as well.

Here are two links to very different articles about two very different men, with differing approaches and arguments about war.

One is Pope Francis, with what is now a well-earned reputation for speaking out. He is saying, point-blank, that war continues because some powerful people make tremendous profits from war, and it is not in their interest to try and create a more peaceful world.

Then we have American Tea Party founder Ron Paul, who has a history of strangely racist conduct behind him, yet is somehow still one of the prominent political figures in the United States today. He actually expressed opposition to the war in Iraq, but recently suggested that black politicians were opposed to war for their own reasons: they wanted that money for food stamps. Yes, he singled out blacks in this case as opposing war for their own interests, essentially.

Please take a look at these two articles by clicking on the links below, and let's see if we can gain a better understanding of the mindsets behind two very different takes on war, and opposing war.
