70th Anniversary of the Atomic Bomb at Nagasaki

I forgot to mention this a couple of days ago, like I did with the Hiroshima anniversary.

However, August 9th marked the 70th anniversary of the second time that the United States dropped the atomic bomb in Japan.

This time it was over Nagasaki.

Three days later, Japan surrendered, although it formally did so on September 2, 1945, which became known as V-J Day (Victory over Japan).

Be that as it may, we certainly should not celebrate the excesses of such devastation that was caused by the dropping of the bomb, which has left the unintended consequence of destabilizing the world and creating more obstacles for peace ever since, as the current controversy with the possibility of a nuclear Iran would attest to.

Here is a blog entry in memory of the victims of that bombing.
