How To Get Young Drivers to Understand How Dangerous It Is to Texting While Driving

Recently in Brussels, Belgium, an experiment was attempted that might at first seem dangerous or irresponsible to some.

We all know that distracted driving in general, and texting while driving specifically, is extremely dangerous. We also know that young people tend to have a sense of being invincible, or art least of somehow not fully realizing either the dangers, or that these dangers really could pertain to them in their real life.

However, one instructor in Belgium decided to take a different tact to help allow young people to experience the dangers of distracted driving, and to get them to understand first hand just how quickly and easily things can go wrong.

Below is a link to a video showing this instructor with a bunch of young people being put to the test, learning to drive, yet forcibly being distracted, and seeing for themselves just how much this took away from their focus on the road.

Personally, I think this is a good idea, and a unique approach to a relatively new problem that has not been fully addressed yet.
