Remembering 'Perfect Strangers'

Remember the show Perfect Strangers?

It was a comedy series that ran from the late 1980's into the early 1990's, and it was pretty funny, in it's day.

Do you remember Balki Bartokomous, and his funny accent and foreign ways? He was played by Brnson Pinchot, who is probably best known for that particular role. The fictional Balki was supposed to be from the tiny, fictional island nation of Mepos.

He came to America, and specifically to Chicago, and somehow, he met Larry Appleton, They ended up as roommates, and that was the basis for this comedy series, which actually was quite successful there for a while. Plenty of people watched it, and that included yours truly, as well as the rest of my family. It was a pretty funny show. Among my favorites was the episode when they went to the dentist and got drugged up, as well as the one when they get bullied, and then take martial arts courses to get tougher and get revenge. Also, there was the episode where Larry Appleton tries to break into an office using his credit card, which gets cut in half in the process, with the pretty damning evidence of his name and half of the numbers on the locked side.

Again, it was quite funny. Surely, there are other people out there who used to watch it, and kind of miss it.

So, it seemed like a decent idea to go ahead and post something about it, and so here is that post:
