Former President Bill Clinton Latest to Point Fingers for Wife's Election Loss

Yes, you could kind of see this one coming, couldn't you?

President Bill Clinton, husband of recently defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, is now taking his turn at doing the popular thing among Democrats, which is to say to join in the blame game.

Surprisingly, he did not point the finger of blame at Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein supporters.

However, he was not shy about pointing fingers. He blamed James Comey, who is one popular target for blame by prominent Democrats. He also blamed Donald Trump, although frankly, since Trump was actively running against his wife, I am not sure what that's about. It's not like he can honestly blame his wife's opponent for trying to undermine her and defeat her in the race, and thus contributing to her loss, right? I mean, don't get me wrong: I cannot stand Trump. But he was trying to win, and it was up to Hillary Clinton to answer that, no?

Finally, he blames "angry white men."

He may have a point there, because frankly, the reality was that there were indeed a lot of angry white men who voted.

In fact, he insulted both Trump and "angry white men" in the same sentence:

“He doesn’t know much,” Clinton said when asked if Trump was smart. “One thing he does know is how to get angry, white men to vote for him.”

The former president mentioned FBI Director James Comey, who made comments that the investigation of Hillary Clinton still might have something to it just days before the election, and suggested that the timing of this was very suspect:

“James Comey cost her the election,”

Clinton also spoke of the Russian involvement in the election, specifically in revealing wrongdoing by prominent members of the Democratic party:

“You would need to have a single-digit IQ not to recognize what was going on,” Clinton said.

One thing that Bill Clinton did not discuss in great detail, apparently, was the actual wrongdoing that prominent Democrats were guilty of in the first place. Also, he did not appear to mention how his wife was fed a question by associate Donna Brazile for one of the debates, so that she would have time to prepare, but was caught red-handed. Finally, he also did not seem to want to discuss proven Democratic wrongdoing in making sure that Hillary Clinton received the Democratic nomination to begin with, or how he personally met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch at a Phoenix airport tarmac while his wife was being actively investigated by the FBI.

Still, the fact that he ignored those particularly uncomfortable questions can hardly be seen as surprising.

However, President Clinton did mention some behind the scenes drama that unfolded the day after the election, when he received a call from Trump. According to the Record Review editor who wrote the article below:

Clinton appeared “incredulous” about Trump's cordial tone so soon after the contentious 2016 campaign.

“Like it was 15 years ago,” Clinton said.

Trump reportedly told Clinton his wife “was tougher than I thought she’d be.”
