Some American Citizens Had the Brilliant Idea of Shooting Guns at Hurricane Irma

Earlier today, I published a blog entry about Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey, and the damage that these two storms did, as well as the response by some prominent Americans (particularly politicians), which I personally found absolutely pathetic.

Well, let us not leave the response of some good, upstanding American citizens out of it, either.

One man had the brilliant idea to shoot his gun at the storm (Irma), and the idea caught on. Suddenly, he got a following, and others began to organize efforts to get together and do this, to make a show of it.

It sounds unbelievable, and frankly, I hope that this is an example of fake news. However, something tells me that this is all too real, because this kind of mindset very much exists in the United States today:

  3. I suppose, although abject idiocy is timeless, of course. I think it's just much more in the public eye in the age of social media overkill. Maybe Jello should have included a disclaimer: "This is a cautionary tale, not something to aspire to." Then again I'm guessing there aren't a whole lot of DK fans among the ranks of these storm-shootin' geniuses...
