Michael Wolff's Book "Fire and Fury" Clearly Getting Under Trump's Skin

Another weekend under the Trump presidency, and yet more ridiculous, laughable Tweets. Laughable, anyway, if they were not so damn tragic and depressing.

The big news is the release of a controversial book, "Fire and Fury," by Michael Wolff. In the book, Trump is portrayed as an immature child prone to temper tantrums, and numerous members of his own staff openly insult his intelligence. We already know that Trump's own Secretary of State Rex Tillerson lost his cool and referred to Trump as a "fucking moron." (see the New Yorker article, link below)

Apparently, at least according to this latest book, Tillerson is not alone in expressing disgust at the President's lack of intelligence, incompetence, and negligence. The book also suggests that Trump did not actually want to win the election, that he did not actually want the Presidency.

Particularly controversial is a section in which Steven Bannon, the former manager of the Trump campaign in 2016, basically trashes numerous members of the Trump family, and suggesting that Trump Jr.'s conduct, specifically, in working with the Russians was treasonous.

Of course, when President Trump receives bad news, he lashes out. We all know that much by now, right? And indeed, very predictably, that's exactly what President Trump did, in his trademark style. He called people names, called a political opponent a "total loser," and claimed that others are lying to discredit him (as if he can accuse anyone of lying, being such a master of that art himself). Here, specifically, is what he tweeted out:

Michael Wolff is a total loser who made up stories in order to sell this really boring and untruthful book. He used Sloppy Steve Bannon, who cried when he got fired and begged for his job. Now Sloppy Steve has been dumped like a dog by almost everyone.

That prompted Luke Skywalker (aka Mark Hamill), to once again get political. He really nailed it, too. Look at this:

hamillhimselfCongratulations, sir! This dignified, statesman-like tweet is the perfect way to counter the book's narrative that you're an impulsive, childish dimwit.

For once, I have not heard word about Trump getting back at Hamill, lashing out at the Star Wars star, perhaps to call him a "total loser" or has-been, or perhaps to disparage the new Star Wars movie. However, that did not mean that Trump was done with tweets. Not by a long shot.

In an effort to counter the growing speculation that Trump is mentally unfit for the Presidency, Trump once again predictably praised himself, and quite overdid it. Much like Hamill pointed out with the previous tweet, Trump essentially proved with this tweet the exact opposite of what he intended, as most people understood that if he were indeed mentally fit and incredibly intelligent, he would not constantly need to say it. Here is his full tweet:

"Throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart," tweeted Trump. "Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius....and a very stable genius at that!"

Once again, Trump extends his most lavish praise on himself, and blasts Hillary Clinton as if the 2016 election were still gong on, proving that he cannot simply get past things and do the job that he was elected to do.

Also, it is untrue that Trump succeeded to the White House on his first try. He ran, and lost, in 2012. This is not even usually a source of shame, as numerous other former Presidents tried, and failed, their first time around, only to succeed later. The list of recent men who have achieved this feat, after first failing, includes Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and now, of course, Donald Trump.

Yet, despite that, Trump cannot admit to any failures at any point in his life, even if he overcame one, like this. After all, he ran and lost for 2012, but he ran again and obviously won in 2016. But he either has a monstrous problem with overconfidence, or an even worse problem with underconfidence that masks itself with severe shows of overconfidence. One way or the other, it amounts to pretty much the same thing, the same sickness.

And make no mistake: Trump is a sick man.

Yes, this is a sick man, all kidding aside. He clearly has demonstrated that he is not fit to hold the office that he holds.
