RIP, John Young

We lost a great astronaut today in John Young (1930 - 2018).

Young went into space six times, and was one of only 12 men in history to have walked on the moon.

Those alone are some huge accomplishments, yet his most distinguishing accomplishment might have been when he commanded the first space shuttle mission in 1981.

His Wikepedia page also said this of young:

He was the only person to have piloted, and been commander of, four different classes of spacecraft: Gemini, the Apollo Command/Service Module, the Apollo Lunar Module, and the Space Shuttle.

Impressive credentials!

Young had been with NASA for 42 years when he retired in 2004!

He was 87 years old.
