Should Stephen King Write These Books That He Has Not Yet Written?
Stephen King has written over 50 novels, and over 60 books in all. Many of them are fairly lengthy, and pretty much all of them are of strong quality.
You might think that having written and published as much as he has, he has written pretty much everything that he would have wanted to by now. Indeed, his major writing goal of completing the Dark Tower series was completed, although it came much quicker than anyone could have expected. But after King nearly died in 1999 after being hit by a van, so he can be excused for wanting to make sure that he got that book series done before the opportunity was lost, right?
Otherwise, he has some incredible stuff available, as well. Landmark books like The Shining, Under the Dome (which has become a popular television show - although I am admittedly not familiar with it), It, Needful Things, The Green Mile, Different Seasons, and recent gems such as Mr. Mercedes, Joyland, and his most recent novel, Revival.
However, some apparently feel that he could, and should, write more to their liking. Personally, I feel blessed to be able to read his written works, as his style of writing is not only impressive, but most agreeable to read, being very reader friendly. He has been a source of inspiration to me, and not just with his writing style, but also generally what he does in his personal life, trying to help others, being such a strong pillar of his community, and having kept in touch and grounded in reality, despite the obvious potential pitfalls of success, with fame and fortune now nothing new to him.
Still, here is an article where someone ruminate about the books that she feels Stephen King should write, even if he has not yet written them.
Do you agree? Should King get on with the business of writing these books? Are you like me, pleased with his already extensive body of work, and looking forward to any and all new book projects that he is working on?
Here is the link to an article with some interesting ideas on what King should potentially write in the future that got me on this topic in the first place:
