Senator Rand Paul Verified account @RandPaul Not blocking the 9/11 bill - simply asking for a vote on an amendment to offset the cost. 1:44 PM - 17 Jul 2019
Travis Allen responded two times over. First, he sent this message, condemning Paul's blocking of the bill (and make no mistake, that is exactly what Paul did, regardless of his denial) and took particular aim at Paul's elitist addiction to playing golf:
Travis Allen 🇺🇸 @TravisAllen02 Replying to @RandPaul Shame on you Rand! Stand up for the first responders not golfers like you! 1:47 PM - 17 Jul 2019
Then, he followed that up with another message, and a picture of Rand Paul playing golf with President Trump on a sunny day, surely on one of Trump's own golf resorts. This obviously reinforced Allen's criticisms of Paul (and Trump) engaging in an elitist game together, instead of doing their jobs and trying to handle the business of governing the country in the right way. Here is Travis Allen's follow-up tweet:
@TravisAllen02 Jul 17 Replying to @TravisAllen02 @RandPaul Good use of taxpayer funds!
Again, this was followed by a picture of Paul and Trump posing when clearly playing golf together.
Remember, miserable Rand Paul blocked the bill, even if he now denies that this was what he was doing. His rationale was concern over the budget, for paying for the bill. But lest we forget, Paul had no hesitation passing Trump's irresponsible tax bill that gave tremendous money to the very wealthiest Americans, as well as huge corporations, and which added one trillion dollars to our national debt. The supporters of the bill, particularly Trump, claimed that it would pay for itself, yet that one trillion dollars has, in fact, not yet paid for itself. But no sense of urgency from Paul on that issue, even though he blocked the 9/11 first responders bill.
This is not fiscal responsibility, or even fiscal sanity. This is elitism taken to the extreme!
Shame on Rand Paul!
