RIP, Guy Lafleur

Les Canadiens de Montréal

Sad news in hockey today. NHL legend Guy Lafleur died yesterday. He was 70 years old.

Lafleur was a prominent member of the Canadiens, were he was instrumental in helping that legendary franchise add to their already impressive collection of titles and accomplishments. They won five Stanley Cups during his tenure there, in 1973, and then four in a row from 1976 through 1979. Lafleur is considered one of the greatest hockey players of all time.

Lafleur did return to hockey from 1988 until 1991, and played with both the New York Rangers and the Quebec Nordiques.

The sports world lost one of the great ones yesterday.

RIP, Guy Lafleur.
