I have been meaning to write about this since it happened.
Of course, everyone recalls how eastern Russia, specifically the Kamchatka Peninsula, had a massive 8.8 earthquake last week. It was the sixth largest earthquake in recorded history. It then caused a tsunami warning and/or alert for numerous faraway places, including Japan and Hawaii and the Pacific coast for both North and South America.
Well just days later, a massive volcano - the biggest in Eurasia - suddenly came to life for the first time in centuries.
Volcanoes - as well as other acts of nature - have always fascinated me. And it seems to me like experts in the field found this both fascinating and illuminating.
