Bills Survive Scare Against Fins to Remain Undefeated at 3-0

Thursday Night Football: Buffalo Bills 31, Miami Dolphins 21

Well, the Buffalo Bills are off to a great start this season. They are one of the teams which rank among the favorites for the Super Bowl, and have a passionate fan base known as the "Bills Mafia." Quarterback Josh Allen is the reigning NFL MVP, and he has become a superstar in the sport. They have qualified for the postseason for the last six straight seasons, and have won the AFC East - as well as at least one playoff game - in each of the last five seasons in particular.

All of that is solid. It is also evidence of why they entered the season ranked among the favorites to do some special things.

So far, they also are producing results. They overcame a 15-point fourth quarter deficit against a tough rival in the Baltimore Ravens to squeak by with an exhilarating win to start the season. Then they dominated the Jets at MetLife Stadium in Week 2.

Last night, they had a scare against the tough Miami Dolphins, who desperately wanted to earn their first win of the season. Buffalo hardly played their best in the game. Yet, it is a testament to the team that they still pulled off the win, scoring 10 unanswered points late in the fourth quarter to cement the win.

Now the Bills are 3-0 on the season. I had figured that the Fins would be Buffalo's toughest division rival. Yet the loss dropped Miami to 0-3 on the season, which means that now, the Bills have a three game edge over their likely toughest rivals. The Jets are 0-2, and the Patriots are 1-1, and so far the most serious test within the division for the Bills.

That's a fantastic start. Let's see if the Bills can keep it going.
