This blog entry is not a joke, although it really feels like it should be.
The Treasury Department is seriously considering minting coins with the image of current president Donald Trump on both sides. Note that I said on both sides, because I am not aware of anyone pictures on American currency being on both sides either in bills or coins. Even icons like Washington and Lincoln and Jefferson only make it to one side.
Apparently, Trump will be on both sides.
As if all of that does not make this proposed coin politically charged enough, the back features an image of the Dear Leader with his fist up and the American flag behind him, and the words "Fight, Fight, Fight" engraved above him. We all must recall the alleged assassination attempt against him last year, which frankly feels like there are a lot of questions which never were answered. Not least of which is how Trump's ear, which allegedly was hit by a bullet and torn apart badly enough that it required a tampon to be placed on it during the Republican National Convention, but which now looks perfectly normal. I am no doctor or medical professional, mind you, but I know this much: cartilage doesn't grow back. And there are absolutely no signs or marks on his ear. Also, the Secret Service is not generally in the habit of allowing the president to stand up and pose and chant to his crowd when they feel that there is an assassination attempt in progress, but they did on that day.
Very bizarre.
Also, let's face it: Trump has always come across as a coward. Remember how he freaked out when the bald eagle he was posing with started to flap it's wings? Also, let's not forget that he got a deferment allowing him to dodge the Vietnam conflict after receiving an elite military education, allegedly for "bone spurs." Yet, that did not prevent him from referring to members of the military as "suckers" and "losers" and insulting Gold Star families, or repeatedly denigrating political rival John McCain's war record as a political prisoner, even after McCain died.
All class, Trump has always been, eh?
So a brave warrior or resistance feels like something more of a myth than reality when it comes to Trump.
You know, it's funny. I remember a very conservative teacher of mine once telling our class that he thought it was very arrogant that former New Jersey Governor Brendan Byrne had an arena named after him. Assuming he is still alive, I wonder if he recognizes how arrogant it is for a sitting president to impose an official coin with himself portrayed on both sides, and a clear political sentiment expressed on it, to boot. Or would he be like the MAGA morons out there, who manage amazing mental gymnastics to excuse literally everything that this pathetic, small man posing as a big tough guy does while representing the nation?
And if you argue that perhaps it was not Trump behind this, sorry, but Bitch, Please! This is the guy who claims that his presidency is the most accomplished in history. The same guy who thought that in a nation of between 330 to 340 million people, he was the only person who could "save" the country. The same man who has now mentioned the possibility of running for a third term on multiple occasions, and once mused about how the United States having a "president for life" would be a good idea. The same man who once seriously though about his image being added to Mount Rushmore.
Wake up! This is just one more sign that we are yet one step closer to the dictatorship that this pathetic, small, weak man wants to impose on us.
