Germany is Returning to Nuclear Power After Three Years Without

Ran into this article a couple of weeks or so ago.

Germany had seemingly abandoned nuclear power. But now, after just a few years, they are seemingly turning back to the nuclear option as a source of energy for the country. 

Traditionally, Germany has been among the leaders among advanced nations regarding clean energy. Yet, their demands are not really being fully met.

Interesting turn. And while it was not mentioned in this particular article, I wonder how much of this decision to go back to nuclear energy is because of the possible influence that Russia and now Trump's United States might have on the Germans trying to be a little bit more energy independent?
