Another horrific headline involving a shooting, as someone who should not be handling a gun manages to get one, and tragedy ensues.
Another headline that feels like it is unique to the United States, the nation with far and away more guns than any other nation in the world, by far.
Somehow, a three-year-old child fatally shot his baby brother with an unsecured gun that should never have been available to such a young child in the first place.
This story is almost too horrible to even think about. That poor baby. Also, frankly, that poor child who made a bad mistake at such a young age, probably without even realizing it. Hard to imagine that this will not scar this poor boy for the rest of his life.
Whoever is responsible for leaving a deadly weapon someplace where a three-year-old child - barely older than a baby himself - could get access to it should be locked up for a long time. We all make mistakes, and I do not want to judge, but this is criminal.
Such a horrific story, it is hard to imagine.
3-year-old fatally shoots baby brother after picking up unsecured gun by Dennis Romero, April 10, 2021:
"I just want to take this moment to plead with parents and guardians all over to not allow your firearms to be accessible to anyone in the house," said Houston's assistant police chief.
