A little bit of comedy to lighten up the heavy news that we have been relentlessly - and may I add, predictably - bombarded with ever since Trump once again came to power.
I mean, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson just ended all House business until September in a transparent attempt to delay the Epstein Files controversy. Apparently, despite it being such a huge issue during the election, Trump and his MAGA Republicans in Washington seem to want this whole Epstein thing to just go away already. Remember how Trump suggested that any Republican who believed the whole Epstein thing was "stupid" (his words) and doing the bidding of the good for nothing Democrats? Apparently, if you believe Trump, or at least what he is now saying (as opposed to what he has said in the past, when saying differently happened to serve his interests), the Democrats created the Epstein List in an attempt to smear him. To compromise him politically.
Question?
If the Democrats created the list to smear Trump politically, why wouldn't they have released the Epstein Files when they were in power and held the White House, a little over six months ago? Wouldn't it have been perfect for them to have used it against him, say, in the election?
Just a minor point, but I digress...
Anyway, we have Johnson showing disgusting levels of bootlicking and enabling a dictator. Predictable stuff, frankly.
Trump is once again going ahead with his tariffs and, also predictably, claiming wonderful results.
ICE is still acting like a secret police force in some third world dictatorship. In fact, I heard in NJ News earlier this morning that they are about to try to open up part of a military facility to use as a detention center.
Of course, the news that is dominating is related to the Epstein Files. Because apparently, according to recent reports, Pam Bondi knew months ago that Trump's name is on the Epstein Files. And there are creepy letters which Trump wrote to Epstein, since they were such good and close buddies, which are now being released (or perhaps leaked) to the public. It feels more and more obvious, even to many MAGA people, that there is more to Trump and his links to Epstein than he was letting on.
Surprise, surprise, eh?
If only we had some inkling about all of this. Like, say, pictures with the two of them together. Or even better, some video of the two of them partying together at Mar-a-Lago. Or maybe some written proof of just how close they are. Perhaps Epstein referring to Donald Trump as his best friend, and Trump being on record in a published major magazine back in 2002 going on about how wonderful a man Epstein is, and how he likes beautiful women almost as much as Trump himself does, although he then kind of laughingly muses about how Epstein tends to like them on the young side. You know, something pretty damning like that, which would strongly suggest that Trump knew all about the pedophilia ring that Epstein was running. After all, it's not like Trump's own behavior let on that he was...well, pretty creepy, like with his own daughter.
So some wonderful, inspiring news to lift up everyone's spirits, right?
Well, below is a video in which Jon Stewart discusses much of these things, as well as CBS recently deciding to cancel Stephen Colbert's successful Late Night show very shortly after Colbert criticized them. This cancellation naturally serves the Trump White House, and Trump himself applauded the show being cancelled. Seems like an obvious attempt to silence dissent in yet another clear example of an attack on free speech.
Take a look. It's pretty funny stuff, and informative to boot:
