My Father's Carving of the Image of John Lennon

A while ago, I took a picture of something that my father made.

My father was an artist. Mostly, he was a cartoonist, which is something which I have revealed here, even showing some of his work at times.

But he did some other things, as well. And one of the things that he did was a carving in wood of John Lennon. I knew that I took a picture of it, but could not find it anywhere.

Until very recently, when I recovered the picture.

It felt worth sharing here.

The Musée du Louvre/ Louvre Museum Opened On This Day in 1793

On this day in 1793, during the French Revolution, the Musée Central des Arts in the Grande Galerie of the Louvre, now known generally as the Musée du Louvre, opened it's doors to the public as a museum.

These days, it is widely regarded as one of the biggest art museums, with some of the most famous art works in the world housed inside.

Seemed worth noting and publishing this blog in honor of the Louvre today.
