Just days before the first round of the French election, there has been another apparent terrorist attack in France. This one was in Paris, on the Champs-Élysées. It happened last night, on April 20th, at around 2100 (9:00pm) local time, or 3:00pm New York time.
According to reports, the man responsible got out of a car and just started shooting, particularly at police. A gun fight ensued and, eventually, the man was killed by police.
Still, one police officer was murdered, and two other people were seriously injured from the shooting that broke out last night.
French President Hollande, who is in his last weeks as leader of France, has already claimed that the attack was yet another terrorist incident.
How this will play for the upcoming election is still unclear, and we will have to wait and see what the impact of this latest incident will be on French voters.
