This was a picture that I personally took from the anniversary show in Philadelphia - October 22, 2013. Incredible memories from that show, and many others that I was fortunate enough to attend!
Okay, one more blog entry about Pearl Jam's induction into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, and then I'll get back to discussing the grim state of world affairs, I promise!
Often times during these awards show and/or induction ceremonies and/or major entertainment or music events, we get bombarded with what certain stars are wearing. That, of course, is especially true when women wear especially revealing or sexy dresses and such.
Normally, I try not to focus on that, believing it to be the fluffier, less substantive side of art and creation, or entertainment, if you want to call it that.
However, bassist Jeff Ament wore something that I did find interesting, because it was very different, and it had a certain appeal to fans of many other bands who maybe felt slighted that their bands were not included to be inducted in the Rock Hall of Fame. he wore a t-shirt with the names of such bands, and it was interesting to peruse through this list.
Included were some notable acts, many of which I myself am a fan of. Not surprisingly, this included Soundgarden, a band that there was some buzz about this past weekend, despite the fact that they did not make it in just yet. But some of the other bands listed included bands who's exclusion (at least thus far) is a bit puzzling. I cannot list all of the bands on Ament's t-shirt, although some of the ones that stood out included Duran Duran, Iron Maiden, The Monkees, King Crimson, the Dead Kennedys, Faith No More, Bad Company, Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, Motlet Crue, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, Alice in Chains, Oasis, Captain Beefheart, the Smashing Pumpkins, Bon Jovi, and the Black Crowes.
There are plenty more names, of course. If you are interested in seeing a close-up image of the shirt, and all of the names in it, please click on the link below:
