Pictures of Pierre, South Dakota By Night

As I mentioned already in an earlier blog post about visiting Pierre,  this city  - if it really even can legitimately be called a city at all  - is very small.

Still, it seemed worth going to explore it a bit while dark.

So here are some pictures from that little journey.

Enjoy!

A Visit to Pierre: South Dakota's Capital City

I referred to Pierre, South Dakota's capital,  as a city.

Really, though,  that felt like a stretch.

In fact, it is the second smallest state capital in the United States. behind Burlington,  Vermont.

Even though I knew that going in, it somehow still felt surprising just how compact and,  well,  rural it actually felt.

Yet,  there were some handsome points.

The State Capitol Building clearly seems to be the center of the city. It is situated near a lake, which reflects the Capitol in a charming manner.

It was a pleasant town.  But admittedly, not one that we spent a ton of time exploring. After all, there are some incredible sites to visit in South Dakota,  and that was where we were going.

Still, we looked around Pierre a little bit before heading to the western portion of the state.

Below are some pictures that I took.

Enjoy!
