Some of the highlights from our drive through Montana:
We crossed the Missouri River (see first picture)
We crossed the Yellowstone River and got some amazing views of it several times
We saw signs for the Battle of Little Bighorn, although unfortunately, that wound up being just a little too far away ( about 45 miles). We still had to get to our reservations in Billings.
We saw what appeared to be smoke billowing into the sky from what appeared to be a wildfire. Emergency fire vehicles racing in that direction also seemed to confirm that this is indeed what it was.
We saw an incredible amount of open space in "Big Sky Country " on what proved to be a very hot day, and there was talk of this being the beginning of a heat wave. Sure felt like it.
