Joaquin Phoenix is one of those actors who have gained my attention. While I admittedly did not notice him or his for years, even after seeing him in some movies, all of that changed with his acting in "The Joker." Very few could have played that character anywhere near as well as he did. When his character was laughing involuntarily, I actually could almost feel the pain that character was going through. Indeed, his acting was such that I almost felt, as a viewer, as if I was stepping into Joker's shoes throughout that movie, even when he was doing appalling things which none of us would condone. Again, that was some outstanding acting.
Well, his next role should be interesting. He will be playing none other than Napoleon Bonaparte in an upcoming movie named simply "Napoleon." I have not seen any trailers or read or heard any reviews just yet.
Still, being French, and also a fan of history, this intrigued me. There are some questions (I will not go so far as to use the word "concerns" just yet) regarding the historical accuracy of the movie, although those will surely be answered soon enough. But this is exciting. Another movie that looks appealing, and has absolutely nothing to do with Marvel or DC superheroes!
Looking forward to it.
