Our Visit to Hyde Park, London

We visited Hyde Park for far longer than expected. And yet,  paradoxically, we only kind of barely went in.

Let me explain.

Obviously,  it has been a very busy and even chaotic few days,  with a lot of stress and running around. Such is traveling.

Already, we had seen a lot earlier in the day. We had visited Abbey Road and Buckingham Palace, and then taken a break at Green Park,  which is right next to Buckingham Palace,  and where we also took advantage of the peace and quiet to relax.

Anyway, we walked back to Hyde Park, and then just kind of plopped ourselves down on the grass. My son was quiet and contemplative,  almost meditating.

As for me,  I soon began to lay down on the grass. Before long, it qualified more as a small yet satisfying nap.

When we got up, my tired legs felt restored. So we walked around and visited the Rose Garden, which was actually quite lovely.

I wanted to visit the Kensington Gardens, also. But after learning that it was two and a half miles away, I decided that it would be best not to test my still fatigued legs. So we did not go to Kensington Gardens.

Admittedly, I had not known that Hyde Park was quite so big. That was impressive. No wonder this park is so famous. It gives the city people a chance to escape the chaos of city life and escape for a little while.

Still, the time that we did spend in this place,  despite the limitations of our visit, were pleasant. And to me, that seems to be the point of visiting a park like this. So maybe we got out of the experience what we should have gotten out of it.

In any case,  here are some pictures of our trip to Hyde Park.

Enjoy!
