Once again, Glenn Kirschner has a more positive outlook. And he is an expert, having been an elite prosecutor for decades in Washington.
Here, he feels that there are more signs that Trump is about to be indicted, as his lawyers are urging him to cut ties with Mark meadows. When lawyers give this kind of advice, he says, it is because these individuals are about to spill the beans, and that the main guy (in this case, Trump himself) is about to face indictments.
Again, I really, really hope that this is the case. Nobody in recent history - let's say, my lifetime - that I know of has gotten away with so much bad behavior affecting so many people, all while continuing to enjoy every aspect of his extremely privileged life. That is part of the problem, of course. He has always been this privileged, and has never been forced to have to face or endure any real consequences for his actions. So he feels that he is entitled to get away with it, which is what makes him seem almost childlike and ridiculously spoiled, despite his obviously advanced years.
So I hope that Kirschner is right here. Nobody deserves justice more than Donald Trump. Let's hope that he finally is forcibly removed from his life of privilege, and gets to know the inside of a jail cell decorated by unforgiving and unyielding bars.
That would go a long way towards restoring my own faith that American democracy and the justice system may actually still work, and are not completely broken. For that matter, it seems doubtful that I would be the only one.
Let's see it happen!
