Former Senator Al Franken makes a very compelling case regarding the need to actually prosecute rump for clear crimes.
His video goes over some of the most damning evidence and facts against former President Trump discovered during this January 6th Committee. Remember that Trump knew that this crowd was armed, yet he was not worried. He even said that they were not there to hurt him. He believed that they could possibly reverse the results of the 2020 election, which he clearly lost.
Franken suggests something that I believe: Trump knows that he lost. He can say whatever he wants, but I suspect that nobody knows that Trump lost that election better than Trump himself.
He reminds us that there were numerous victims, including some who were lost on that day
At some point, he reminds us that some prominent Republicans - not least of all Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell - pointed the finger of blame squarely on then President Donald Trump "practically and morally." He even suggested that former presidents are not immune from seeing the consequences of his actions.
That sounds very accurate.
Franken also reminds us that Trump was on tape when he said that now infamous line about finding 11,780 votes in Georgia.
