Minnesota to North Dakota

We picked up the rental car in the morning the day after we arrived, and headed west shortly thereafter.

The driving conditions were ideal. Clear and sunny. The farther away from Minneapolis we got, the better the traffic conditions, not surprisingly.

We were finally on our way.

After maybe three hours, we reached Fargo, the first and far away the biggest town that we saw in North Dakota.

Most of the rest of it was flat farmland for as far as the eye can see in any direction.

There were a few gas stations here and there, and even some tiny villages, or what passed for them, anyway. For a while, we had to travel a state route that was mostly just gravel.

We weren't in New Jersey anymore.

My son drove. Quite a lot, actually. Four hours,  all told. Good driving experience, and under ideal circumstances. Made for a pleasant and memorable day overall.

We finally arrived at the campgrounds in the International Peace Garden by around 9:45 pm. For the most part,  exhausted.
