A Centuries Old Time Off Request From Work Found & Apparently By None Other Than Geoffrey Chaucer

Now this was a pretty amazing discovery!  

A request for time off dating back more than half a millennium ago was discovered. And the person requesting off was none other than legendary literary figure of Middle English, Geoffrey Chaucer, the author of the "The Canterbury Tales."

I took a class at Rutgers on Chaucer, where we read "The Canterbury Tales," among some other works by the legendary author. It was in the original Middle English, which was so different, that it really was like another language altogether.
