RIP to Woodstock legend Alvin Lee of Ten Years After

Alvin Lee, founder and member of the band Ten Years After had died. He was 68 years old.

Lee died yesterday of complications from what usually is a routine medical procedure.

Alvin Lee is remembered for being in Ten Years After, but he is perhaps best remembered for his legendary performance at Woodstock, where he conducted an 11-minute performance that has become one of the most iconic, and well-documented, memories of the legendary concert in 1969.

Ten Years After released ten album altogether, although Alvin Lee's musical career went beyond that, as well. Over the course of his career, he had worked with plenty of rock legends, including George Harrison, Steve Winwood, Ron Wood, Mylon LeFevre, and Mick Fleetwood.

His wife and daughter left the following statement:

"We have lost a wonderful and much loved father and companion. The world has lost a truly great and gifted musician."

RIP, Alvin Lee.
