Happy Birthday Elton John!
Yes, the legendary musician turns 69 today.
I'm a little late in responding to this, but have you ever checked out the soundtrack to the 1971 film "Friends"? This was right before he became a household name in this country. It contains some real gems IMHO - a couple tracks rank among the best Elton John songs I've ever heard. When I discovered it on YouTube a couple years ago I found myself wondering how I could have made it this long without hearing it, in light of how popular he is and how much I've enjoyed most of his signature hits over the years. It's fairly obscure and from what I gather he hasn't performed any of those songs live in ages, but I'm at a loss as to why.
