This is a perfect illustration of why I moved away from being a Democrat, and have long considered myself an independent now. Hard to relate to these kinds of elites, but they dominate both major parties.
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has sided with Republicans, and against a very prominent and popular member of the Democratic party (her own party) to side with predatory lenders in opposing a Consumer Protection Agency.
Yes, this was a slap in the face to Elizabeth Warren, but also served as confirmation that those like Wasserman Schultz are in bed with billionaires and elites.
It should be a surprise to no one, but interesting to note for anyone who has not yet figured out, that she also has sided with Hillary Clinton consistently, and has made every legal effort to block any progress made by Bernie Sanders.
This is why we cannot have nice things. Elite, special interests control the most powerful figures in the government. Easier to do that, than to play fairly.
Shame on the Democrats like her and Hillary, who claim to be "progressive" but then turn around and stomp on protections for the average American.
However, I applaud Senator Warren for her efforts to fight for the American consumer, and to stand up to the billionaire class. It appears to be a losing battle, but let's hope more people grow sick of this elitist rule, and that we might have many more Elizabeth Warrens and Bernie Sanders as national figures in the future.
