2025 NBA Finals Review: Oklahoma City Thunder Outlast Indiana Pacers in Seven Game Series

2025 NBA Finals Update

2025 NBA Finals Champions: Oklahoma City Thunder

So the 2025 NBA Finals are now done. A new champion has been crowned. For the first time in franchise history, the Oklahoma City Thunder are the NBA Champions, as they wore down the Indiana Pacers in a back and forth series that ultimately went the distance.

Entering the series, both franchises were seeking their first ever NBA title.

The Indiana Pacers managed to stage a remarkable comeback to take Game 1, stunning OKC in the process. At that point, I admittedly thought that they had an excellent shot at winning this series, and capturing their first title.

To their credit, Oklahoma City showed their resolve, digging deep and winning Game 2. The Pacers took Game 3, and again, I assumed that Indiana should be able to win Game 4, and put OKC in a real hole.

But I was wrong.

The Thunder managed to win on the road in Game 4, recapturing home court advantage, as the series shifted back to Oklahoma City.

From that point onwards, the home teams won every game.

Indiana seemed to be ready for Game 7. They were playing well early, and were actually leading at halftime. That, despite a season ending injury to their star, Tyrese Haliburton.

In the second half, however, OKC just took over. Ultimately they pulled away until it was out of reach for the Pacers, thus securing the first NBA title in franchise history.

Congratulations of the Oklahoma City Thunder and their fans, this seasons newly crowned NBA Champions.
