This is a subject that I have been thinking about quite a bit lately, since it has been all over the news in recent weeks.
I noticed some of this firsthand, as I saw what looked like a military truck, and nothing like a police car or van that I had ever seen before, at a nearby car shop a few years ago. Those trucks belonged to the township of Wayne, New Jersey, and I really wondered what on Earth they would need something like that for.
Glad to see that I'm not the only one who noticed, or had the same question!
This is an alarming trend, and it seems like these are leftovers from a grossly, perversely inflated military budget, where the military has so much money to buy new toys for itself all of the time, that it inevitably winds up having too many toys, and then decides to sell the discarded ones for basement bargain prices!
