Here are my predictions for week 2:
Thursday Night: Washington at Green Bay - This is a good one! A tough game, two playoff teams. Washington has a very tough defense. But the Pack is solid, too. Also, the Frozen Tundra (it's not quite frozen yet, though) is a difficult place for road teams to play. My pick: Green Bay
NY Giants at Dallas - If you are a Giants fan like me, you're probably also thinking, "Yikes!" That game last week was awful and depressing. The O line once again is failing us. Just the same old same old. My pick: Dallas
Buffalo at NY Jets - Sorry, but I'm not convinced that Gang Green can really do much of anything this season. Just can't see them winning this one. My pick: Buffalo
LA Rams at Tennessee - The Rams did not win as convincingly as I had assumed that they would last weekend. Still, they should be able to get past the Titans in this one. My pick: LA Rams
Cleveland at Baltimore - The Ravens just lost a heartbreaker. But playing the Browns often is a good cure for what ails teams. Look for the Ravens to bounce back strong. My pick: Baltimore
Jax at Cincinnati - Cincy looked decent last weekend. So did the Jaguars, for that matter. But at home, I really like the Bengals to take this one. My pick: Cincy
New England at Miami - Well, the Fins looked awful last weekend! Still, they should have enough to get past the lowly Pats this weekend. My pick: Miami
Chicago at Detroit - What a game this one should be! An improved Bears team, and the Lions. Both losing their openers, and needing to win to avoid that 0-2 hole. Gotta say, I like the home team in this one. My pick: Detroit
Seattle at Pittsburgh - Seahawks are probably the team most of us figured that they would be. Which means that they will have a tough time in the Steel City this week. Look for the Steelers to improve to 2-0. My pick: Pittsburgh
San Francisco at New Orleans - Two teams heading in opposite directions. The Saints were fairly competitive last season, but feel a lot less relevant this year. The 49ers are bouncing back from a bad year. My pick: San Francisco
Carolina at Arizona - The Cardinals managed to get the win last weekend, although they had a tougher time than I had expected. Still, at home against the Panthers, the Cards should be able to take this one. My pick: Arizona
Denver at Indianapolis - The Colts looked amazing last weekend! Denver seems like a good team again, fresh off their first playoff season in nearly a decade. Should be a good one. I like the Broncos in a tight one. My pick: Denver
Philadelphia at Kansas City - The Super Bowl rematch. In fact, a rematch of two recent Super Bowls, since these two franchises have met in two of the last three Super Bowls. It could even be a preview of the coming Super Bowl, although that feels less certain. But this should be a good one. In a tight game, I like the Chiefs to get a small measure of revenge. My pick: Kansas City
Sunday Night: Atlanta at Minnesota - The Vikings showed a lot of fight with that impressive fourth quarter comeback. They should be riding high, and this should be a victory for them. My pick: Minnesota
Monday Night Football # 1 - Tampa Bay at Houston - A good, competitive game, this one should be. Could go either way. Expect a low-scoring affair, but I'll pick the home team. My pick: Houston
Monday Night Football # 2 - LA Chargers at Las Vegas - The Chargers feel like a team on the rise. Las Vegas enjoyed an impressive road win last weekend. But the Chargers will step up the intensity quite a bit. My pick: LA Chargers
