Also, I don't have the full range of features that I normally would have on the laptop back home.
But I will do my best.
Here goes:
Indy beating the Broncos in Denver was a surprise. Former Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had another solid day. The Colts had to settle for field goals too frequently for comfort. Yet, they were able to do just enough for the win, with a successful field goal attempt lifting them over the Broncos at Mile High. An impressive win, and Indianapolis looks much better than I gave them credit for. A great win that moves them up to 2-0 on the still young season.
The Eagles bested the Chiefs again, as they did in the Super Bowl. It was close this time, but they still won to improve their record to 2-0. Meanwhile, KC falls to 0-2 on the year. It's still early, but the Chiefs have dug themselves in a bit of a hole early this season. Still expect them to be a playoff team and possibly even win another division title. But they are not making it easy on themselves.
Atlanta handling the Vikings on Sunday night was impressive. Had expected Minnesota to take that one. An impressive win. Both teams are 1-1.
Both New York teams lost.
Again.
Of course.
Last weekend, the Giants offense looked bad, while the Jets looked fairly impressive in the loss. This weekend, it was reversed. The Giants had a decent offensive showing, while Gang Green looked horrible against the Bills.
Buffalo is starting the season off strong. A huge comeback win over the Ravens followed by a divisional road win in dominant fashion. They certainly look good early on.
As for the other NY team:
Why can't the Giants ever beat the Cowboys?
That got old a while ago.
Now it's just sickening.
Anyway, let's move on....
Washington lost to the Packers. Not a stunner, since the Pack is tough. Especially at home in Green Bay. Both teams figure to be legitimate playoff contenders at least. Maybe even Super Bowl contenders.
Detroit absolutely lit up the scoreboard against Da Bears. I had expected the Bears to improve this season. Maybe contend for a playoff spot.
They don't look good so far.
The Cardinals bested the Panthers on the road. They have now won two road games to start the season. Neither of those teams is very good, admittedly. But Arizona did what they had to do and earned impressive wins. That's as solid a start as could be expected.
The Niners defeated the Saints in New Orleans. No real surprise there, to be sure. Feels like the Saints will be weak this year.
Baltimore bounced back from that terrible loss up in Buffalo and dominated the Browns. Also no real surprise. You have to figure that the Ravens will rank among the contenders this season. As for Cleveland, it looks like it will be another long year for fans.
Yet again.
Cincinnati, meanwhile, appears to be off to a solid start. They won on the road in Jacksonville, in what turned out to be a bit of a shootout. That improved their overall record to 2-0, and alone in first in the AFC North. At least for now.
Part of the reason for that is because the Seattle Seahawks took down the Steelers in a tough game in the Emerald City. Both teams walked away from that one with identical 1-1 records.
The Rams stayed perfect on the season by holding off the winless Tennessee Titans. No surprise there, right?
In a game that did feel like a bit of a surprise, the Patriots humbled the still winless Miami Dolphins. I had expected the Fins to still have an explosive offense, and to be a playoff contender. But they do not look like that at all so far this season, having dug an 0-2 start for themselves to start the season. Both losses were against teams in their own division. It won't get easier next week, either, because they play the red hot Buffalo Bills.
In the first Monday Night Football game, Tampa Bay edged out the Texans in a battle between two likely playoff teams. Even likely division champions, I suspect.
The second Monday Night Football game yesterday also wound up being fairly predictable, at least in terms of the final results. The Chargers, who I suspect will be a playoff team and probably at least give KC a serious run for their money in terms of who will win the AFC West this season, were able to defeat the Las Vegas Raiders. What that means that the Chargers improve to 2-0 on the year, with both wins being against divisional opponents. Right now, they are in sole possession of first place in the AFC West, since every other team in the division lost. Also, they are two games ahead of the Chiefs, specifically.
