Trump Cannot Help Shaming the United States, Even in a Crisis

Apparently, every responsible adult (always assuming there is one) in the White House is too afraid to stand up to Trump to tell him to be quiet and listen every once in a while, and not to interrupt the adults who are speaking.

Trump's approach to everything since even before he reached the White House was to tweet his little rants about it.

You just knew that was going to be embarrassing and get him into trouble once he was tweeting with the power of the Oval Office. Sure enough, it has gotten him into plenty of hot water, although he conveniently ignores this. Also, we forget just how often this happens precisely because of how frequently he tweets. Before we have even had a chance to fully digest the level of degradation from this president's actions and/or tweets from a recent incident, it is on to the next ridiculous news story or headlines, and a fair number of them have been regarding his tweets.

Tweeting, of course, is seen as not professional, and certainly not becoming of a head of state, let alone of the head of what is, at least for the moment, the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world.

Trump promised as a candidate that Americans would get sick and tired of all of the winning once he reached the White House. Since then, longtime allies have publicly stated that they no longer trust the United States, many of his decisions have been almost universally condemned, and countries that are seen as rivals, if not even perhaps as enemies, are growing stronger and filling in the vacuum in the obvious lack of leadership in the White House.

You might think, if he was smart, that he would not be so quick to tweet his every opinion on every issue, especially in the face of a quickly escalating crisis. When Russia is refusing to back down, and threatening outright military action against the United States in Syria, then the situation calls for a serious approach by an adult, not temper tantrums and boasting by an overgrown child.

Indeed, whether or not they have the moral high ground in this situation (and it really is very difficult to tell), Russia is looking like the adult here. A Russian diplomat stood up and put Trump in his place, saying "We do not participate in Twitter diplomacy," and putting Trump to shame in ways that Trump's political allies here are just too scared or otherwise unwilling to do.

At a time when we really need to get serious and start looking at things as adult, we elected the ultimate narcissistic man-child into our nation's highest office, and the results are not at all surprising. He has yet to pass up an opportunity to embarrass himself, and his country along with him, and has proven time and time and time again how uniquely unqualified and unfit he is for the office that he now unfortunately holds. The world is laughing at us, and Trump and his ridiculous supporters are strutting and beating their chests the entire time, as if they have indeed won.

What a farce all of this is! The United States has grown smaller in almost every way under the ultimate Fake President.
