U.S. Military Bases Around the Globe

Earlier this week, I posted a blog entry mentioning the military bases that the United States has, and how much of a toll this takes on both the taxpayer, as well as the environment.

Well, just in case anyone still doubts how expansive the American empire is, here is some proof. I am not siding with Putin here, but using his arguments, because despite his faults, I think he has a point here on this score:

And here's another link to show just how extensive the American military bases around the world are. Think about all of these places, and the expenditures needed to maintain such a presence, not to mention how much the military spends on other things, like development of technology and military exercises (and until recently, wars). Maybe it's time to really reflect on just how much it's worth it?
