Obviously, the big news yesterday was when it was announced that the White House had fired FBI Director James Comey, and suggested that not going ahead and going after Hillary Clinton was not his decision to make.
Now, Hillary Clinton does appear to be corrupt, and certainly, the meeting between former President Bill Clinton and then Attorney General Loretta Lynch on an airport tarmac in Phoenix was more than enough to raise some serious questions and eyebrows, and screams at illegality.
However, given the dubious timing of this news, given the revelations of just how much the Trump administration knew of Michael Flynn's ties to Russia, and especially when they knew it, this move just seems transparent and, frankly, boneheaded. In other words, totally in keeping with the hyper narcissism of the entire Trump administration thus far.
You know, for a long time, I thought this whole Russia story was just a bunch of bull, and dismissed it as such. Now, I still don't agree with those who suggest with a straight face that it cost Hillary the election, because her own arrogance and corruption did that, and the polls suggested as much from the beginning. She never had the race wrapped up at any point. That said, it sure looks like there is something to this story, and this really is beginning to look like a cover-up. If it is, how dumb is Trump, doing the most obvious, most bullying thing that he could to try and silence dissent? It always seems that this is his strategy, and in another country, he likely would already be outright dictator. But this is a nation of laws, and while he has bent quite a few laws, almost to the point of breaking them, this may have crossed a line. It would serve this SOB right to get his ass impeached, and have his hyper narcissistic personality have to deal with the dubious distinction of being an impeached president!
