Governor Chris Christie and His Bully Pulpit

Here is a post that is a bit outdated, since this was for the past election.

Christie's victory came as no surprise, really. He was projected to win, and has been prominent on the national stage for some time now. He is quite popular across the country, and quite a few New Jerseyites are impressed with him.

But that approval is far form unanimous, and I know quite a few people who can't stand the man. Teachers, for one. A couple of police officers, for another. But these people belong to groups that were negatively impacted by this governor, when he essentially gave them the pink slip. In fact, firing thousands of teachers was among this governor's very first acts.

In any case, since you know that he will be running for President some time in the future, it might be good to learn more about the man, and his methods to popularity. One method has been to make himself at least appear like a common, no nonsense tolerated kind of an everyday guy, which he isn't. But this tough guy personal has gotten him in trouble at times, when it at least appears to be going too far.

In any case, here are a couple of articles about Christie and his bullying. Hey, better late than never!:
