Nine Inch Nails Receives Nomination For Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, While Soundgarden Still Snubbed

It does seem unfair to me that Soundgarden has not been voted into the Rock Hall of Fame. This was not only one of the major bands to have come out of Seattle in the early nineties (that whole "grunge" scene), but it was also the first of those bands, and likely the most unique in terms of sound and experimentation.

I know that Pearl Jam was kept out of the lineup this year due to a technicality, since they officially missed the 25 year mark by a matter of months (Ten was released in August of 1991). However, as a big fan myself, frankly, I really hope that they not only are nominated, but make it on their first attempt next year, given how huge and influential they were, and remain.

But why has Soundgarden not made it in? Not saying that Nine Inch Nails themselves do not deserve to be inducted, of course they do. They were a huge influence for the entire Seattle dating back to the 1980's, and then became a massive influence throughout the United States and, indeed, the world of rock starting in the nineties, when the Seattle music scene broke huge, with Soundgarden among the most iconic of these bands.

So, why have they not been recognized yet? It seems long overdue already, quite frankly.
