Members of several of the big rock bands to have broken big from the Seattle music scene in the early nineties have decided to join forces and create an all-new entity. The new band is to be called Ten Commandos, and will feature Mark Lanegan (formerly of the Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age), Matt Cameron (Soundgarden and Pearl Jam), Ben Sheppard (Soundgarden), Alain Johannes (formerly of the Queens of the Stone Age and Eleven) and Dmitri Coates (from Off!).
The band has been working on producing some cool new music, with a new album set for release in November from Monkeywrench Records.
A new single will be released shortly, on October 9th, serving as a sneak preview. It is called Staring Down the Dust.
The band members have discussed the process of making the music, and so far, they seem to be working well with one another. At least that is what they are saying thus far, although then again, they would kind of have to remain positive, right?
In any case, this is a pretty exciting new musical project, and I for one am looking very much forward to it, personally!
