In a previous post, I mentioned my opinion that Voivod is one of the most underrated, if perhaps not even the most underrated, band in rock. At the very least, they are easily the most underrated band that I know of. They are one of the most imaginative, experimental bands around, with an intelligence and originality that is generally appreciated by many of their fellow musicians, many of whom feel quite passionate about them. After all, Jason Newsted was willing to leave Metallica in order to join this band, and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters has expressed his passion about how great these guys are, as well!
Despite the death of "Piggy" a decade ago, the band is still going strong, still rocking. And they recently announced plans to tour in North America in 2016, which should be very cool!
I, for one, am looking forward to this!
